Our terms

Last updated: 2 October 2026

These terms, and agreeing to them

These terms are the agreement between you and GRAC, which runs Tell Rosa at thestoryofmy.life. By making an account or using the service, you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use it. Our privacy policy explains how we look after your information, and is part of this agreement.

GRAC is the trading name of [Company name] Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number [company number]), registered office [registered address].

Who can use it

You must be 18 or over, able to make this agreement, and not barred from the service by law or by an earlier suspension.

Your account

You sign in with a link we email you, or with Google — there’s no password. Keep your email account safe: anything done through your account is treated as done by you. If you think someone else has got into it, tell us at hello@thestoryofmy.life.

What this is — and what it isn’t

  • Rosa is a computer host, not a real person. She’s made to listen well, but she can misunderstand or get things wrong — and so can the notes, summaries and book text made from your conversations, which are written with the help of AI. Please read things through before you share them.
  • It isn’t therapy, and it isn’t medical, legal or financial advice.
  • It’s still being built. Some things may change, or not work as they should yet.

Your story belongs to you

You keep ownership of everything you make here — your recordings, your words, your photographs, your book and your website. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, copy, process and show that content only as far as we need to in order to run the service for you. That permission ends when you delete the content or close your account, apart from copies in routine backups and anything the law makes us keep.

We don’t sell your content, use it to advertise, or publish it. Only you can download it.

Keep your own copies

We’re a recording studio, not a vault. The copy that matters is the one you download and hand over. Whatever is still in your account isn’t something your family can ask us for later — so download your videos, book and website while you’re well, keep them where your family already looks, and tell someone they exist.

A story you pay for (or are given) has a set time. When that time is up and the story isn’t kept — with Keep, or more time — its camera videos are deleted, never sooner than 60 days after the time is up. We email you two weeks before the time is up (or straight away, if it’s already up) and again at least a week before the videos go, so you can download them. Your words, your book, your photographs and any voice-only recordings stay for as long as you have your account.

Other people in your story

A life story is full of other people, and that’s as it should be. Please be fair to them:

  • Don’t include details that identify someone — children’s full names, addresses, schools — without their agreement.
  • If you keep a story about someone else, tell it with the care you’d want for your own.
  • If someone else takes a turn at the microphone, make sure they’re happy to. Before they start, the screen tells them that what they say becomes part of your story, and that you keep the recording.

Things you mustn’t do

Don’t use Tell Rosa to:

  • harass, threaten, bully or impersonate anyone;
  • make content that is unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit, or that promotes violence or self-harm;
  • share anyone else’s personal information without their permission;
  • upload material you don’t have the right to use, or that breaks someone’s copyright;
  • advertise, send spam or run scams;
  • copy, scrape or take apart the service, try to break its security, or use it to build a competing product.

We may remove content, and limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you why, and you can reply to us by email.

The free trial, and paying

You can try Tell Rosa free for 7 days, with no card. During the trial you can talk for up to an hour in total, and only a limited number of trials run at once — if they’re all in use, you get a place in line. When the trial ends, conversations with Rosa stop, but everything you’ve made is kept and you can still download it.

There’s nothing to pay for at the moment. If we add paid features, you’ll see the price and what you get before you buy, and your rights as a consumer apply — including, usually, 14 days to change your mind about an online purchase.

Keeping the service running

We work to keep the service available and reliable, but we can’t promise it will never be interrupted. Features may change, and we may add, alter or withdraw parts of it as we improve it. If we withdraw something you’ve paid for, we’ll refund the unused part.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 stand, whatever these terms say.

Apart from that: the service is provided as it is, and we aren’t liable for losses that weren’t reasonably foreseeable when you started using it, or for business losses — it’s for personal use. Where we are liable, our total liability to you in any twelve months is limited to the greater of what you paid us in that time and £100.

Ending this agreement

You can stop at any time. Ask Rosa to close your account, or email hello@thestoryofmy.life — closing deletes your story, as our privacy policy explains. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. The parts of these terms that by their nature should carry on — such as liability and governing law — still apply afterwards.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top shows the current version, and we’ll give you reasonable notice of any change that makes a real difference to your rights. If you don’t accept a change, you can close your account.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protections of your local law and can bring a claim in your local courts.
